Baking Kit Apple Cobbler

Filling Ingredients

  • Brookwood Fruit Farm Cobbler Topping Baking Kit

  • 8 medium apples peeled, cored, and sliced thin

  • 6 Tbsp melted butter

Topping Ingredients

  • 8 Tbsp melted butter

  • 1 cup whole milk

Recommended Apple - Variety mix - we used 3 tart apples (Granny Smith), 3 sweet apples (Mutsu), and 2 medium apples (Jonaprince)

Also good - Northern Spy, Jonagold, Empire

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. In 9”x13” pan (or large, 10” oven-safe skillet) add sliced apples and melted butter with pouch of fruit seasoning. Toss well, making sure fruit is coated.

  3. Bake for 20 to 23 minutes (we did 21 minutes). Remove from oven and set aside.

  4. Set oven temperature to 350 degrees.

  5. Combine melted butter with milk, mixing thoroughly.

  6. Empty cobbler mix package contents into large mixing bowl. Pour in butter/milk mixture and stir until combined. (Do not over mix.

  7. Spoon mounds of batter over fruit filling, leaving space between mounds.

  8. Sprinkle top with pouch of cinnamon/sugar before baking.

  9. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven, 35 to 40 minutes or until filling is bubbly, topping is cooked through and golden.

  10. Let stand at least 10 minutes before serving.
