Baking Kit Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • Brookwood Fruit Farm Crisp Topping Baking Kit

  • 6-7 medium apples peeled, cored, and sliced thin

  • 1/2 cup cold butter

Recommended Apple - Nova Spy

Also good - Northern Spy, Jonathan, Granny Smith, Idared

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Butter 8”x8” baking dish, or spray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.

  3. In a mixing bowl, add prepared fruit and fruit seasoning mix. Stir to combine, then transfer to prepared baking dish.

  4. In a seperate mixing bowl, add topping mix pouch contents and diced, cold butter. Use two forks (or a pastry cutter) to cut the butter into the oat mixture, using a slight downward twisting motion, until mixture resembles pea sized crumbles.

  5. Spread topping evenly over fruit in baking dish, gently patting to even out.

  6. Bake 40 to 50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly. (We did 55 minutes)
